Susan and Elizabeth organized this league to support a petition to make the 13th Amendment to outlaw slavery. In the 14th and 15th Amendment they wanted full citizenship for women and people of race, and the right to vote. The league was disappointed when the people only allowed men of race to vote, excluding women.
