Legalism was the official philosophy of Qin China and emphasized that government should be forceful, mankind is evil, and that polytheism was correct. Qin Shi Huangdi, the ruler during Qin China, used force to make important changes and advancements to the Chinese empire. Without this movement, China would not have been as advanced during the 3rd century, and they might not have stayed ahead of the times without this philosophical movement.
