The use of Hadiya (alcohol) was rampant among the tribals and was liked with their religious practices. But often the rampant alcoholism would create chaos, men would not go for work and would drink and beat their wives and children. Shibu had to intervene with caution as any interference in the local religious practice had the potential to backfire. But once again Shibu convinced the people of the ill effects. He explained that there was a difference between taking limited alcohol as a part of religious practice and being inebriated at all times. This was a major victory. But what should be done with the offenders? Shibu came with an innovative technique which became famous as the Delhi road. The repeated offenders were dragged for 10-15 meters while sitting on the ground.
