Roe Vs. Wade was a legal case in which the Supreme Court on January 22nd, 1973 ruled that women should have the right to access safe, legal abortions. It was believed that criminalizing abortion in most cases violated a woman's right of privacy; which is stated in the 14th Amendment. Although, once the fetus reaches the point of viability, being able to survive outside the womb, the court grants the state the stronger interest.
