The Trio and a Chinese operative Tian Zhao ally with the Afghan Mujahideen against the soviets. They locate Kravchenko who somehow survived the grenades in Vietnam. They interrogate him and he reveals that Menendez has moles within the CIA. Then the Mujadeens betray Zhao and the Americans by leaving them to die in the Afghan Wilderness until 2 unidentified civilians save them.
