Study of Flags. Explore the visual and cultural significance of flags as unifiers and dividers throughout history. History, context, and symbolism of nation-state flags, identity and organization flags. Flags designed by artists and designers as means to comment on society. Engage in vexillology (the study of flags) and flag design. Students engage in vexillology (the study of flags) and flag design by creating their own flag using the principles of flag design.
