The SDS was an American student organization that was against the Vietnam war. The Weather Underground was a radical left organization active around the Vietnam war. Muhammad Ali and younger people were all connected with and involved with protests at home. The population around the country was opposing the Vietnam war, primarily consisting younger people. One significant person that opposed to going to war from the draft was Muhammad Ali. One protest that occurred was at Kent State where National Guard troops shot a bunch of protesters. These protests happened all throughout America, but mores specifically the Kent State shooting happened in Ohio. These riots happened all throughout America. Specifically, the Kent State shooting happened in Ohio. The shooting at Kent State happened on May 4, 1970 and the protestors happened throughout the 60s and early 70s. These protestors were protesting because they were against the Vietnam war and they wanted to show the government how they felt about what was going on.

American Escalation and Failure:
This event led to the defeat in Vietnam because there was conflicts happening at home. The conflicts at home resulted in problems with the government and they weren’t able to focus on the war. The country didn’t work together which damaged the countries unity.
