Harlem Renaissance (1 янв 1920 г. – 1 янв 1930 г.)
Описание:
In the 1920s, the great migration took about six million blacks from the rural South to the industrial North, sparking the Harlem Renaissance, an African-American cultural movement that started in the Harlem neighborhood in New York City but would eventually spread across the nation. The movement marked the first time that mainstream media and publishers seriously turned their attention to any aspect of black literature, music, art, politics, or culture. It led to the rise of new kinds of music and other culture such as Jazz music, and it led to artists like Louis Armstrong and writers like Paul Dunbar to prominence. (Change: black culture being recognized and appreciated to any extent by society as a whole) (Cause of event: great migration)
