He not only lead Rome to the Pax Romana, which was a 200 year period of peace in Rome, but he was a very strong military leader as well. The Pax Romana gave Rome the time it needed to recover from past wars, and also make innovations in the arts and in culture. During this period, many monuments and buildings were built, includig the Colosseum.
