Considered the "largest monied corporation in the world" in its time, the Second Bank of the United States served a 20 year charter just like the first, under Madison's presidency. It was made of approximately 4,000 investors whom owned an extremely large percentage of the bank's capital. Its charter ended after the Bank War, which was a conflict between Nicholas Biddle (the bank's president), and the Andrew Jackson administration. The bank could not secure its recharter, therefore it was freed to liquidate in 1841 after becoming a private corporation in 1836.Добавлено на ленту времени:
