Elizabeth I - the last Tudor monarch - was born at Greenwich Palace on 7 September 1533, the younger daughter of Henry VIII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. When Elizabeth came to the throne, she was 25 and know as the Virgin Queen as she was unmarried. Elizabeth I made England protestant again and her will was the only law. During her reign, England became enemy of Catholic Spain, and Elizabeth fought against Philip II's navy. At the Elizabethan period England was Country stability , unified, became a super power. England exchanged from dark to gold ages. Naval power, defeated the Spanish armada. Trade and commerce flourish. Exploration and colonialism. London largest city in Europe. Population two million in 1559. Doubled in 50 years.
She became the national symbol of England. Strong will, determination in keeping the power. renowned intelligent, well educated. Never married. Loved fine clothing and jewelry, role model and fashion icon, she was very well educated and spoke six languages fleuntly. She died in March 24 1603 after 45 years of being the Queen of England.
