Thomas Paine(1737 - 1809):Thomas Paine was an English writer and political philosopher who supported revolutionary causes in America and Europe. His book Common Sense was the first literature that really advocated for American independence. His political views led to a stint in prison as well as a few other punishments but he didn't give up and pushed for change and independence.
