The Industrial Revolution, which lasted from 1750 to 1850 in Great Britain, was a revolution in which new innovations made many different aspects of life work faster and more efficiently. This revolution started as a result people realizing that they needed to find ways to do their daily jobs faster and more efficiently. In the Industrial Revolution many different things were innovated, like the way that many machines started to be operated by coal and steam rather than by wood or humans. For example, railroads became began to be powered by the new steam engines and coal. These new innovations made it so that many products were made faster and more efficiently, so there became a surplus of those products, which made the prices lower so more people could buy them. This revolution sent the world in to the era of consumerism, which was where people started to buy more products because they had became more affordable.
