Prolonged conflict between Iran-Iraq, with Iraq attempting to take advantage of revolution chaos and annex parts of Iran for resources among other reasons. This was generally unsuccessful; Iran went on the offensive eventually. Chemical weapons and other questionably ethical tactics were employed during this conflict.
