The middle English period was between 1066 till 1450. Old English developed from Old English. A lot of changes happened on the English language specially grammars and pronunciation
After the Norman Conquest English social and political structures ignorant lot of changes such as complete replacement of the English aristocracy by a Norman aristocracy, the political and social aspects the conquest had an impact on the English language. The English language became the language of the lower classes in London, especially among the nobility in literature law the English language disappeared as a written language. English was replaced by Latin and French, alla the nobility spoke French and not English.

King John ( his nickname was John Lackland) lost his English passessions in France leading to a decline of French as an official language in England.
John was born on Christmas Eve of 1167, he was the youngest son of Henry the second and Elinor of Akutan. Because he was the fourth child he no land was giving to him so he earned the nickname John Lackland. In 1204 he lost all of his Normandy positions except the Channel islands, this loss of English positions in France made French language less important language in England. This loss of Normandy came a considerable decline of interest in French, and increased an interest in English.
The middle English period is the beginning of a new standard of English based on the London dialect.
Due to the influences of Latin and French a new language had evolved by the middle of 14th century. Middle English was clearly Germanic, but it had Romance vocabulary. In middle English the structure complexity of old English had disappeared.
