Archaic people known for their distinguished basketry. Hunter-gatherers reliant on wild seeds, grasses, nuts and fruit for food who changed their movement patterns and lifestyle by maximizing the edible wild food and small game within a geographical region. Thus the growing seasons of plants, rather than the migrations of large animals, guided their seasonal population shifts. Lived in rock alcoves or open brush shelters.
