2024 December 12: Louisville Metro Government and LMPD entered into a federal consent decree with the DOJ, setting out a roadmap for reforms.

2025 May 21: DOJ filed to dismiss the federal consent decree.

2025 May 21: Mayor announced the Community Commitment (“Louisville’s Consent Decree” alternative) between city, LMPD, and citizens to carry forward reform efforts.
