after the failed coup he is sent to prison and put on trialhe is sentenced to 5 years but only serves 9 months and he gets out in December 1924
- he uses the trial to spread his message it is effective because he has national attention
- NSDAP party is briefly banned
- he writes Mein Kampf in prison
