1. Lex Citandi (426 AD):
- A precursor to the Digest.
- A collection of jurist law, limited to the five most important Roman legal scholars.

2. Codex Theodosianus (438 AD):
- A precursor to the Codex Justinianus.
- Collection of imperial constitutions from 300-438AD. These included the Codices Hermogenianus and Gregorianus (not considered codifications).
- Considered a partial codification of Roman law as it had a limited scope of time.
