Mughal Empire (1 янв 1526 г. – 1 май 1827 г.)
Описание:
The Mughal Empire was a large land based srate that did not pay much attention to foreign trade due to the enormous size and productivity of their domestic economy. However, the Mughals did allow the creation of merchant colonies by the Portuguese, English, French and Dutch while Indian merchants formed their own trading comapanies. The Mughal empire was also extremely diverse. Although it was mostly comprised of Hindus, there were also large communities of Muslims, Hains, Zoroastrians, Christians, and devotees of syncretic faiths like Sikhism. Portuguese Goa also became the center of a Christian misison in India and in 1580, Portuguese Jesuit missionaries even traveled to Akbar's court where they were welcomed cordially. Akbar attempted to find a religious synthesis that would serve as a foundation for cultural unity in such a diverse empire and so supported Sikhism as well as the Divine Faith, a monothesitic, syncretic religion that glorified the emperor as the Lord of Widsom.
