A rather ferocious military unit tasked with the occupation of Earth committed many acts of violence toward the population, causing large-scale uprisings against them. More occupation forces would punish the mutineers and clear up the crisis. It is suspected that much of the leadership of the violent occupation believed the Tau Ceti origin theory of the terran sophonts, claiming that Xə rewrote history.
