Became the first FASCIST leader because of resentment about the Versailles Treaty

October 1922 March on Rome with 30,000 followers because people supported Mussolini over the king

King gives Mussolini all the power because the Italians support him

Mussolini rebuilds EVERYTHING --> rebuilds military which decreases unemployment

In 1935: Italy invades Ethiopia
- brings tanks, airplanes, etc.
- conquers Ethiopia
- emperor flees
