In Fnaf SL, Michael visits his dad's testing facility and discovers everything his dad did. In this game Michael dies after being led into a room used for remnant extraction not meant to be used on humans. The room was known as the scooping room, with the scooper. The scooper ripped into Michael's flesh. Afterwards, an animatronic called Ennard (a combination of all the SL animatronics which has all the MCI souls, and Elizabeth Afton's soul controlling it) crawls inside Michael's skin to use him as an escape route out of the facility. Due to leftover remnant existing on the scooper, Michael possessed his own dead body. Michael 'lived'.
After a few weeks, Michael's body was considered unusable by Ennard and it left his body by forcing him to puke. Michael Afton gained control of his body after Ennard left.
