Yehud Medinata (1 янв 539 г. до нашей эры – 1 янв 332 г. до нашей эры)
Описание:
Yehud Medinata, also known as Yehud or Yehud Medinta, was an autonomous administrative division of the Achaemenid Persian Empire. Situated in the region of Judea, it encompassed most of Judea, from the Shephelah in the west to the Dead Sea in the east, and was bordered by Arabia to the south. Forming part of Eber-Nari, it was one of several Persian provinces in Palestine, alongside Moab, Ammon, Gilead, Samaria, Ashdod, and Idumea. Established after the Persian conquest of Babylon in 539 BCE, Yehud absorbed the former Babylonian province of the same name, which had previously absorbed the Kingdom of Judah after the Jewish-Babylonian War. The establishment of Yehud followed Cyrus the Great's Edict of Cyrus, which authorized the return to Zion and ended the Babylonian captivity. Despite Cyrus's support for the Jews, the population of Yehud Medinata was smaller than that of the former Israelite kingdom. The name "Yehud Medinata" originates from Aramaic and was introduced after the Babylonian conquest of Judah.
