Famous Accomplishment: created the first family of synthetic fibers of strength and stiffness, better known as Kelvar (used for bulletproof vests) in 1965
In her lifetime she pursued to Mentor to women scientists and introduce young children to science. Also had journaled “The Nylons Rope Trick” with Paul W Morgan
Awards : National Medal of Technology and innovation (1996)
