Описание:

The end of legal slavery in the United States was replaced by the separate but equal policy at the end of the Civil War. Even though this was very misguided and inherently racist it was at least a step forward for African Americans in the fight for equal rights. The purpose was to give African Americans the same public life/education just separate from the white public however the extreme difference in funding made it so the white-dominant schools were vastly superior in regards to the quality of life and education to that of the sister African American schools.
