Moses leads the Hebrews out of Egypt.At first, Hebrews are welcomed by the ancient Egyptians but eventually put into slavery.
The Hebrews are led out of slavery by a man named Moses. This event is known as the Exodus and is celebrated today with the festival of passover.
The Hebrews wander the desert for approximately 40 years before reaching Canaan. During this time, they receive their religious law code named the 10 commandments. With this, a truce (meaning agreement) was formed between God and the Hebrews → God would protect them and guide them back to Canaan if the Hebrews followed his laws.
