What most people think of when talking about a Star Wars video game is right here. in these 5 years as the Prequel Trilogy released money would flood into Lucasarts and they pumped that into innovative ideas. Such as one of the first popular MMO's, Star Wars Galaxies. This era would see the release of some of the best games of their day, such as KOTOR, Jedi Academy, Battlefront 2, Lego Star Wars, Republic Commando, and Empire at War. To this day games released under this IP emulate the games of this era, just look at EA's battlefront, Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga, or the coming KOTOR remake. I can't really express enough just how much of a cultural juggernaut star wars became not only because of the prequel trilogy releases but especially the games that held people over between and after the movie releases.
