The Heroic Realism time period is well known as the Purposes period. Heroic Realism is also a term used to describe art as propaganda. The designs in this period were used to propagate the revolution in the Soviet Union (in Lenin's time period). This was because Lenin thought that people would not understand the abstract visual images used to communicate.
