Reasons:
1) Dissatisfaction with rowlatt, GOI act, WWI inflation, spanish flu, jallianwala bagh & 'Treaty of Severes,1920',

Action:
1) Khilafat Committee setup by Ali brothers to restore dignity of Khalifa.
2) Requested MG for leadership and launched NCM to boycott titles, CS, army, no tax camp.

-ve results:
1) Low (capitalist+middle class) participation
2) Movement turned violent (Chauri Chaura)
3) Khadi was expensive
4) Communal Violence
5) Khilafat movement ended when people of Turkey themselves ended the rule of Khalifa & est. secular republic

+ve results:
1) Strengthened INC in NWFP (MMP)
2) Strong (WC+peasant+LC) participation
3) Revolutionaries joined NCM
4) Tribals participtn (Rampa Rebellion)
5) Economic Boycott- Br. imports 1/2ed
6) Boycott council + Anti-Liquor
7) Support of Akali movement
