Omri reigned for 12 years and did evil in the sight of the Lord. He led the Israelites into idol worship and was more evil than all the kings before him.
During Omri's reign civic war broke out because half the nation wanted Omri as their king and the other half wanted Tibni to be King.

Then the people of Israel were split into two factions; half supported Tibni son of Ginath for king, and the other half supported Omri.
