Описание:
Who:
Hammurabi: Created a powerful military force and created their complete legal code. The empire fell back down to a small and powerless kingdom after he died.
Nebuchadnezzar: King of Neo-Babylonian that gave men and women equal rights. Also the one that enslaved the Jewish.
What:
They created the first written languages, but it was mostly destroyed in the Bronze Age Collapse.
They believed in many gods, but their king god was Marduk.
They had a large wall surrounding their capital Babylon. They were massively tall and thick.
They created the code of Hammurabi: One of the first written codes of laws.
Neo-Babylonian empire was from 626-539. This was the last Babylonian Empire.
Built many sculptures and buildings. They made the Garden of Babylon.
They took over the kingdom of Judah and enslaved thousands of Jewish people.
In Christianity they built the Tower of Babel, that foolishly tried to reach god. God in response changed their languages into many different languages, so they wouldn't understand each other. Most likely this didn't happen though.
When: 2300 BCE-539 BCE
Where: Middle East
Why: Why has the garden of Babylonian completely disappeared?
As time passed, records and the garden itself were destroyed by war and weather.
End: It was conquered by Cyrus the Great and the Persian Empire. Cyrus the Great completely dissolved the empire when taking it.
Timely Impact:
It ended the Kingdom of Judah and many other city-states. Strongest city-state in the area at its peaks.
Lasting Impact:
Created the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the seven ancient wonders of the world. One of the first to create written laws and its languages was used in many other countries. Seen as an ungodly place in christian scriptures.
