The Fair Labor Standards Movement (1 янв 1900 г. – 25 июн 1938 г.)
Описание:
The movement for Fair Labor Standards has existed since the 19th Century but came to a head in the mid-20th Century with the publication of the Fair Labor Standards Act OF 1938. The law established minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping, and standards for the employment of minors ("Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)"). It was passed in response to the growing anger of workers in America who were unprotected, demanding fair legislation. One such group was the National Child Labor Committee—established in 1904—leading the fight for workers' rights. The International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union was another large organization, a union composed primarily of women. The activism of groups like these led to the passing of the FLSA and changed the workplace in America forever.
