Expansion of the Byzantine Empire (1 янв 493 г. – 1 янв 554 г.)
Описание:
Theodoric founds The Ostrogothic Kingdom of Italy, expanding the kingdom north as far as France and eastward as far as Serbia. Under Emperor Justinian I, the Eastern Empire (i.e., the Byzantine Empire) began efforts to retake Rome in 535 CE. A series of successes and loses for the East ensues, culminating in the end of Ostrogothic rule over Rome in 554 CE.
The Ostrogothic Kingdom of Italy was founded after Theodoric defeated Odoacer, which went as far N. as France, and as far E. as Siberia. Emperor Justinian of the Eastern (Byzantine) Empire decided, "Hey, why not retake Rome?", and he tried starting in 535 CE, and was successful in 554 CE, thus ending the Ostrogothic Kingdom
