Ancient Greek democracy
(12th-9th century B.C) (1 янв 12 г. до нашей эры – 1 янв 9 г. до нашей эры)
Описание:
In Greece in the year 507 B.C, The Athenian leader Cleisthenes introduced a new political system that he called demokratia. It was the first democracy in the world. This system had three bodys: the ekklesia, a sovereign governing body that wrote laws and managed foreign policy. There was also the boule, or a council of representatives from the ten athenian tribes and the dikasteria, a court for athenian citizens that would have a jury drawn from a lottery. The invention of Demokratia was directly responsible for our modern democracy and how our governmental system is organized and is also a direct contributor to classic liberalism and individual rights & freedoms.
