The Congress of Vienna was an assembly of all the major European states following the Napoleonic Wars that redefined the borders of Europe. Changes of note: France restored to its 1791 borders, Austria annexes Salzburg, Venezia, and Lombardia, Prussia receives enormous territorial compensation on the Rhine, Netherlands annexes Belgium and enters a personal union with Luxembourg, German and Italian states highly consolidated.
