White supremacy was an issue since 1619.Groundwork established with 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments after Civil War (1865-70).
Brown vs Board of Education (1954), Rosa Parks (1955), and MLK Jr. kicked off the movement.
In 1960s and later, black churches begin to advocate for Black Power and establish liberation theology.
