The Ancestral Puebloan peoples of Southwestern North America saw expansion through the "four corners" area of modern-day Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah and were characterized by their dwellings (pueblos and cave dwellings) and complex systems of irrigation and trade roads.
