1960'S Breakthrough in ASL (1 янв 1960 г. – 31 дек 1969 г.)
Описание:
William Stokoe was a teacher at Gallaudet and he studied the structure of ASL. He published many works showing how ASL had its own grammar and syntax. This proved it was not an abbreviated form of English as many people believed at the time. This most likely boosted the moral of the Deaf community. It showed that they had their own language that was separate from English. They were proud of it.
