desert storm happened because of the iraq invasion and the kuwait oil prices, it only lasted 43 days. it also only had 143 deaths. the us and nations led the attack with more than 116000 air attacks and dropped 88,000 tons of bombs over six weeks that preceded the ground campaign. The air attack was so successful that the ground campaign was over in 100 hours. desert storm was the first time stealth aircraft were used in a major way.by graham EDITED BY SPENCER
