Occupation: In 1873, he became a partner in a brush manufactory, and in 1880 the sole proprietor, and has since conducted the business in Pawtucket under the firm name P.E. Thayer & Company.
From 1886 to 1893 he was also half owner of the Woonsocket Brush Company.
Other Offices: Pawtucket City Council (1886-1892, 1895), Board of Alderman President (1896-1898)
Affiliations: First lieutenant of the Woonsocket Light Artillery in 1869 and 1870. He was a thirty-second degree Mason, and member of Palestine Temple, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine; and is also a member of Eureka Lodge, L.O.O.F.; of Pawtucket Council, R.A.; of Hope Lodge, Knights of Honor; of the Central Club, of Providence; and of the Pawtucket Business Men's Association.
Other Information: He was a member of the commission to establish a boundary line between Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and was chairman of the Pawtucket commission to abolish grade crossings.
