The Holocaust was the genocide of European Jews between 1941 and 1945 during WWII. Hitler capitalized on the already-present antisemitism in Europe, and he told Germans that Jews were the reason they'd lost WWI. Hitler ordered the mass-murder of these Jews, and over 6 million died, which was two thirds of the Jewish population. Those who weren't murdered instantly were sent off to death camps where they were beat, raped, starved, gassed, experimented on, and, ultimately, worked to death.
