The State Duma was restored in 1993 with the adoption of the Constitution of the Russian Federation of 1993. Now the State Duma is the lower house of the Federal Assembly. It is elected in elections consisting of 450 deputies. The State Duma of the 1st convocation was elected for 2 years, 3-5 convocations - for 4 years, 6-8 convocations - for 5 years.
