Religion: Modernism; Fundamentalism; Revivalists on the radio (CUL, WXT) – As cities began introducing new ideas that clashed with old ones, there was a growing difference in religion. This difference came specifically in the Protestant group and it was broken up into different factions. Modernism was mainly located in the big cities and allowed for members to believe in Darwin's theory of evolution while still believing in the Bible. Modernism allowed it's members to study the Bible with critique and to accept what they wanted to accept as true. On the other hand, there was fundamentalism. Fundamentalism preached that every word of the Bible was to be accepted an there was no interpretation. Fundamentalism was mainly located in rural areas of the United States. With the invention of the radio, revivalists were able to reach groups through the radio. They were able to reach mass crowds Anne preached to many people across the country over the radio.
