When Ceasar died, Octavian returned to Rome to discover that Julius Ceasar had adopted him and made him his heir. He then began the Roman Empire with him as the first Emperor. During His reign, He accomplished many achievements many of which helped restore and expand the Roman Empire, He also began the era of relative peace in Rome called Pax Romana where there were no large-scale conflicts in Rome for over two centuries. However, the grand expansion of Rome may have all been the cause of its downfall by draining its resources.
