Moody started ministry at the notable age of sixteen and began to pastor a church at the age of seventeen. After receiving his Th.M., he taught at Southern from 1941-44, at Union Seminary from 1944-47, and returned to Southern in 1948 as professor of theology. He was a distinguished author and flexible lecturer. Nevertheless, his enduring rejection of eternal security culminated in forced retirement in 1983 after having published The Word of Truth.
