Not sure of the dates in 1891 and 1896.
This case addressed the ownership of the temple lot in Independence, Missouri. The RLDS Church filed suit against the Hedrickites for building on the site. The LDS Church provided funds and advice to the Hedrickites. In March, 1894, the court ruled in favor of the RLDS. When the Hedrickites appealed, the new court favored the Hedrickites, but they dismissed the case completely, leaving the situation as it was before the case. The RLDS Church tried to appeal to the Supreme Court, but they dismissed it.
