The “Cultural Civil War” was between the urban and the rural. As the Great Migration of African Americans emerged the increasing visibility of black culture --jazz and blues music and the Harlem Renaissance--irritated some white Americans. As a result, the Ku Klux Klan resurfaced causing tension in north and south.
