War between America and Britain. Was the result of Britain's attempts to restrict U.S. trade, the Royal Navy's impressment on American seamen, and the U.S.'s desire for more land. During this time, Andrew Jackson was a general and began to gain public trust, eventually leading to his presidency in 1828.
Importance—The War of 1812 created more nationalism than ever before as some Americans called it the Second Revolution as the U.S. fought Britain again. The War of 1812 also led the way for important war-heroes to rise, Andrew Jackson being one of them.
Connection—As James Madison, vice-president to Thomas Jefferson and president at this time, had to pick up the pieces of Jefferson's administration.
