The Revolutions of 1848 was a wave of revolutions throughout Europe inspired by a want of liberty, freedom and a better life. people wanted freedom of press, more democracy and wanted to be more involved in the government. Starting with the revolution in France, monarchies in Austria, Germany, and Italy were overthrown in a wave and replaced with new forms of government, most of which were better for the people. However, many of the uprisings were subdued, resulting in thousands of deaths. The Revolutions of 1848 changed society in Europe and gave the common people more power.
